In the spring of 2021 I went out of my comfort zone and emailed a women named Beth who runs Sheep Sorel farm in Welch MN because she had Clun Forest and I wanted that wool. Beth told me she sells it all to her shearer and gave me the number. I called the shearer, who just happened to raise Corriedale sheep (dreamy) and he still had her wool and his! I ended up going on a grand adventure to gather the bales, which were the first bales I purchased in my milling life, and turned all the wool into amazing things. I’ve purchased her wool each year since and now have made a delightful 2 ply yarn out of it!
The yarn is 200 yards of dreamy 2 ply DK weight heaven. Perfect for your next squishy project. Clun Forest also takes dye well, is hard wearing and long lasting.
In a few short weeks I’ll be back at her beautiful farm grabbing the fleeces as soon as they are sheared off the sheep!
